Practitioner Services

We provide better care through services to support practitioners who deliver primary and community care across Scotland. These include:

• general practitioners (GPs)
• dentists
• opticians
• community pharmacies.

We also support dispensing contractors delivering care across Scotland.

We deliver best in class payment, patient registration and records transfer services and we also ensure clinical governance is maintained across Scotland’s community dental services.

Our team is also responsible for the management of patient compensation schemes, such as the:

• Scottish Infected Blood Support Scheme (SIBSS)
• Mesh Scheme

Data protection

Data handling has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic but we have been regularly assessing the risks and have in place appropriate safeguards, which are regularly monitored to comply with government legislation to support as many staff working from home during this time.
