The Scottish National Burns Centre is hosted within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, located within the Glasgow Royal Infirmary (adults) and the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow (children). The service provides highly specialised multi-disciplinary care for adults and children referred with complex burn injuries which frequently coincide with significant clinical, psychological and social challenges.
What is the Scottish National Burns Centre?
The Scottish National Burns Centre provides treatment for both adults and children by providing highly specialist inpatient and surgical care for patients who have sustained a complex burn.
Specialist outpatient follow up care for adults is provided through the daily burns dressing and scar care clinics, based on the burns ward in the Glasgow Royal Infirmary. For children, specialist outpatient follow up is at the Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow.
