When regional and local plans highlight the potential for more effective national service delivery, our NHSS National Planning Board may commission a review.

Variation in provision or outcomes across NHSScotland may prompt that review. In other cases new technologies can transform service delivery.

The board will establish a small group of people with all the necessary expertise to look at what is happening and the evidence for the intervention. They will then draw conclusions and make recommendations on the best way forward for NHSScotland.
