This surveillance collects information by local case reviews. These reviews help identify the origin, primary source, and risk factors. This helps plan local and national quality improvement.
The enhanced surveillance systems currently included are:
- Escherichia coli bacteraemia (ECB)
- Staphylococcus aureus bacteraemia (SAB)
- Klebsiella species bacteraemia (KSB)
- Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteraemia (PAB).
