NHS Scotland Assure Lessons Learned

Following a series of investigations into cases of infections and operational issues in a number of healthcare construction projects, the Health Facilities Scotland (HFS) and Antimicrobial Resistance and Healthcare Associated Infection (ARHAI) Scotland teams within NHS Scotland Assure have produced this Lessons Learned report.

The report highlights common themes where there are opportunities to implement what’s been learned to reduce risk across NHS Scotland and its construction supply chain. It also covers topics which need more consideration (from project briefing, to project handovers and beyond).
