This guidance is aimed to provide public sector health and care organisations (NHS Boards and Local Authorities (LA)) with a one-stop compendium of published guidance, legislation, standards and policy in Scotland relating to health technology, medical devices and equipment.

The Compliance checklist contains question sets to assess compliance with the minimum requirements of  Scottish Health Technical Note (SHTN) 00-04 (Guidance on the Management of Medical Devices in Health and Social Care). The checklist can be used by NHS boards and Local Authorities in Scotland as a self-audit tool to monitor and improve compliance against SHTN 00-04. It is recommended to be used to develop action plans and carry out regular reviews at least once per year. The tool has 2 parts, one to be completed at organisational level, the other part to be completed by each service/ department/ area who is involved in the management of medical devices/ equipment.
