Request

I would like to submit an FOI request for the amount of human albumin in grams purchased by the trust in 2023 and 2024 (the entire calendar year),

a. broken down by manufacturer (Bio Products Laboratory, Grifols, Biotest, CSL Behring, Octapharma, Takeda),

b. by concentration (4.5%, 5%, 20%) and

c. by service ordering albumin (ICU, Liver unit, etc.)

Response

We have now completed the search of our records and can provide you with the following information:

a and b: please find attached Appendix 1 – Human Albumin Issues 2023 and 2024, detailing the above requested information.

c: Under Section 17 of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002, NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) does not hold the information that you have requested. NSS is unable to provide the data by service ordering however, we can provide you with the overall data per hospital.
