In the last 3 months (July, August, September 2024), how many haemophilia A and B patients were treated with the following coagulation factors in your trust and how much volume (IUs or mg) was used?

We have now completed the search of our records and can provide you with the following information:

Under Section 17 of the Freedom of Information Act, 2002 (FOISA) an organisation does not have to provide that information if it does not hold it. NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) does not hold all the information you have requested.

What we can provide you with is:

  • Appendix 1 – homecare delivery of coagulation factors, detailing information National Procurement, part of NSS hold in relation to framework NP30124 homecare deliveries of clotting medicines. Where we have stated ‘No Data’ we currently do not hold this.
  • Appendix 2 – Patients treated in the West of Scotland, details the total usage for patients seen in the Glasgow centre for July & August only. The figures include Home Delivery & Pharmacy Issue. Due to staffing issues in NHS Lothian, we have no data available for drug usage in the East of Scotland.

For the information we do hold, please note there will be other usage in hospitals that is not captured in these appendices.

Under Section 38(1)(b) of the Freedom of Information Scotland Act 2002 (FOISA), NSS has redacted details where patient numbers are 5 or below to protect their identity in line with the Caldicott Principles.
