Under the Freedom of Information Act, I would like to request the following information:

  1. Any/all service agreements issued by the National Services Division of NHS National Services Scotland between 2005 and 2010 to NHS Greater Glasgow or its successor organisation NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde organisation for:

a. Cardiac Transplantation alone and/or Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation

b. Adult Congenital Cardiac Surgery

c. The Scottish Pulmonary Vascular Unit

  1. Any/all service agreements issued by NSD since 2020 to the Golden Jubilee National Hospital for the same three services

  2. The 2023/24 annual report for each of these three services

Response

I refer to your freedom of information request that we received on 05 August 2024. We have now completed the search of our records and can provide you with the following information:

Under Section 33(1)(b) of Freedom of Information Scotland Act 2002 (FOISA), an organisation does not require to provide information if its disclosure under this Act would, or would be likely to, prejudice substantially the commercial interests of any person (including, without prejudice to that generality, a Scottish public authority) and as such any funding/cost information is being withheld as it is commercially sensitive.

Under Section 38(1)(b) of FOISA, NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) has redacted details of patients that fall below 5 to protect their identity in line with the Caldicott Principles.

Some of the documentation being released includes personal data of third parties, specifically, names of individuals which have not been released into the public domain on any previous FOIs or literature regarding this topic. Where this is the case, these names and contact details have been redacted in line with exception Section 38 (1)(b) of FOISA – Personal information.

Please find attached appendices as per your Freedom of Information request:

1. Any/all service agreements issued by the National Services Division of NHS National Services Scotland between 2005 and 2010 to NHS Greater Glasgow or its successor organisation NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde organisation for:

a. Cardiac Transplantation alone and/or Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation

b. Adult Congenital Cardiac Surgery

c. The Scottish Pulmonary Vascular Unit

Appendix 1c - 2007-2010 Scottish Pulmonary Vascular Unit Service Agreement between NSS/NSD and NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde.

2. Any/all service agreements issued by NSD since 2020 to the Golden Jubilee National Hospital for the same three services

b. Adult Congenital Cardiac Surgery

c. The Scottish Pulmonary Vascular Unit
