Please advise what testing facilities in Scotland are available to NHS Scotland & bodies for the testing of cystic fibrosis.

I refer to your freedom of information request that we received on 11 March 2024 requesting the following information:

Please advise what testing facilities in Scotland are available to NHS Scotland and bodies for the testing of cystic fibrosis.

We have now completed the search of our records and can provide you with the following information:

Cystic fibrosis testing is available in all four consortium laboratories in Scotland (Aberdeen, Dundee, Glasgow and Edinburgh). Cystic fibrosis is included as part of the New Born Blood Spot Screening Programme. The testing for this is undertaken within the Scottish Newborn Screening Laboratory (SNSL) which is hosted in the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow.
