I refer to your freedom of information request that we received on 06 September 2023 requesting the following information:

Can I please enquire when you will be using the new quantum med beds, after research I believe they are the way forward. And have actually been in use for many years.

I can advise you that we have now completed the search of our records and can provide you with the following information:

NHS Scotland currently has an active national framework (NP56418) for the Supply of Healthcare Beds & Mattresses which will end on 31st December 2024. The scope of this framework covers Electric Profiling Beds (EPB) and a range of mattresses used within the Acute and Community sectors. The decision on what type of product is purchased is undertaken by each health board by the relevant clinical staff. I would advise contacting individual health boards who may be able to provide more information.
