To assist with market research, I would like to enquire as to the following information:
The total amount of clinical waste bags procured/used by NHS Scotland split by bag type
(Orange, Offensive, Yellow, Purple, Black etc). in FY22, 21, 20 & 19.
The total cost of this.
The total amount of sharps containers procured/used by NHS Scotland split by container size and colour (Blue, Orange, Yellow, Purple etc) in FY22, 21, 20 & 19.

I refer to your freedom of information request that we received on 12 July 2023. I can advise you that we have now completed the search of our records and can provide you with the following information:

Under Section 17 of the Freedom of Information Scotland Act, 2002 (FOISA) an organisation does not have to provide any information if it does not hold that information. NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) does not hold information on behalf of NHS Scotland. We have provided information for products supplied via the National Distribution Service (NDS) only and does not cover any products that health boards may have purchased direct. Please find attached Appendix 1 – Clinical waste bags, detailing the total amount of bags procured/used, split by bag type and the total cost of this in each financial year from 2019 until 2022.
