b. 10 years ago

c. 20 years ago

Response

I refer to your freedom of information request that we received on 30 March 2023. I can advise you that we have now completed the search of our records and can provide you with the following information:

1. How much land is owned by NHS Scotland currently in an appropriate unit (such as hectares)? This would be to include, for example, grounds of facilities, carparks, offices, and any other land that NHS Scotland (or another body on behalf of NHS Scotland) owns the title to.

Please find attached Appendix 1 – NHS Scotland owned land, detailing how much land is currently owned by NHS Scotland. Some health boards are missing from the list as they have not populated this information in the system. The details presented in this appendix are a direct extract from the Estate Asset Management System (EAMS). The data held within the system is the property of the individual health boards and they are responsible for maintaining this. If you require more accurate and up to date information, we advise contacting the individual boards at:

2. How much land was owned by NHS Scotland:

a. Five years ago

b. 10 years ago

c. 20 years ago

Under Section 17 of the Freedom of Information Scotland Act (FOISA) an organisation does not require to provide information if it does not hold that information. NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) does not hold this information. The current system used to track land owned/leased by NHS Scotland does not have the ability to store/extract historical data. I would suggest contacting the individual health boards at the addresses above as they may be able to provide this level of information.

I trust you will find the information of assistance and if you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.

If you are unhappy with any aspect of how we have dealt with your request, you can make representations to us asking us to review the handling of your request.

If you require any further information, please contact Head of Information and Cyber Security, Digital and Security within 40 working days of the date of this correspondence.
