Why we need suppliers
We contract for high spend products and services that are used by NHSScotland on a national scale. Examples include:
- medical gloves
- dressings
- requirements for temporary agencies
- pharmaceuticals
Territorial health boards may contract for items where there is a bespoke requirement or the spend is low as well.
As a supplier, you need to understand the market and requirements in NHSScotland before applying for tenders. Reflect on whether your product is well established or completely new.
You may find it useful to contact our National Procurement (NP) team for a consultation. They'll help you to gain a full understanding of the clinical and technical criteria for NHS requirements.
