nDCVP

Published on 07 August 2024

Background

New DCVP (nDCVP) is a replacement for the current pharmacy payment system.

DCVP processes payment schedules for pharmacies, dispensing doctors and appliance suppliers in respect of services they have provided and items they have dispensed, producing monthly payment schedules for each NHS Scotland Health Board.
The system is a critical element of automated payments to providers dealing automatically with c£300k of payments daily.

nDCVP will Go Live with May 2023 as the first dispensing month to be processed via the new system. As a result, Contractors submitting claims from 1st May 2023 for that dispensing month will see their claims processed via the new system and paid in July 2023.

Please refer to the guide for key updates on what the move to the new system will mean for Contractors.

Contractor Contact

In nDCVP should P&CFS require to contact a pharmacy/contractor to clarify any aspect of a claim this will now be undertaken via email. Please refer to the Contractor Contact Guide for further details.

Dispensing Contractor E-mail Address Update Mandate

The following Dispensing Contractor E-mail Address Update Mandate is to capture the updated email addresses for pharmacies. This is the email address that Practitioner Services will use to contact a pharmacy to clarify any claim queries.

A separate mandate must be completed for each individual contractor code i.e. Community Pharmacy, Dispensing Practice or Appliance Supplier.

The dispensing contractor must alert Practitioner Services if there’s a change to the email address provided

Please note that this mandate does not apply to eSchedule email addresses.
