Serena Barnatt

Serena was appointed as Director of Human Resources (HR) and Organisational Development (OD) on 1 September 2023. She brings a wealth of experience, having worked in the NHS, health and social care arena for more than 25 years in a variety of roles up to and including Board level.

Prior to joining NHS National Services Scotland (NSS), Serena was Executive Director of Workforce at NHS Golden Jubilee, where she supported a number of key priorities, including the expansion programmes and establishment of the national Centre for Sustainable Delivery and NHSScotland Academy. She has been part of national and regional Human Resources Director (HRDs) groups since 2020 and is currently representing the HRDs on a range of groups.

Serena is also an active member of the Scottish Branch of Health Professions Management Association, which supports the development of workforce professionals across NHSScotland.
