Michael Stewart

Michael is Head of Litigation at CLO.
Michael qualified as a Solicitor in 1997 following a traineeship undertaken in private practice. He then gained experience as a court solicitor working in private practice with a large commercial firm in Edinburgh.
In the past, Michael has represented both pursuers and defenders in Courts across the country. He was a senior associate in private practice before joining CLO in 2007. Since then he has regularly dealt with: medical negligence claims; health and safety prosecutions; fatal accident inquiries; mental health tribunals; and FHS contractor disputes/discipline.
Michael is an Accredited Specialist in Medical Negligence Law. In addition, he has been appointed to sit on the Inner House and Personal Injuries Users’ Groups of the Court of Session.
