Elaine Coull

Elaine graduated from Edinburgh University and trained in private practice. This gives her exposure to a wide range of Sheriff Court and Court of Session litigation.
She was enrolled as a Solicitor in 1989 and joined CLO in 1990. Elaine was promoted to Senior Solicitor in 1992. She managed a large workload for a number of health boards consisting of Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury claims, and court actions.
Elaine was accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a Specialist in Clinical Negligence in 2004 and continues to be accredited. She was admitted as a Solicitor Advocate in 2006 gaining extended rights of audience in the Court of Session, Supreme Court and Privy Council.
She has been the leader of Litigation Team A since 2012.
Elaine is currently the Convener of the Law Society Health and Medical Law Sub Committee which scrutinises consultation documents and Parliamentary Bills of the UK and Scottish Parliaments in relevant areas of Law. She is also a Legal Member of the First Tier Tribunal of Scotland.
