Gordon has over 20 years' experience in supply chain and senior management, and most recently was Director of Health Facilities Scotland (HFS) and Antimicrobial Resistance and Healthcare Associated Infection Scotland (ARHAI Scotland) since March 2019.
Gordon, who originally joined NSS in 2007, will take up the post from the beginning of April – working with current Procurement, Facilities and Commissioning Director Jim Miller to ensure a successful handover.
NSS Chief Executive Designate Mary Morgan said of the appointment: "Gordon brings a wealth of relevant experience to his new role and will ensure continuity and strong leadership.”
Morgan added "The work of Procurement, Commissioning and Facilities has been at the heart of Scotland's COVID response.
"It is also central to the remobilisation of our NHS in Scotland. I look forward to working closely with Gordon and his teams."
