Find out how and where to submit your dental mail

No dental mail should be sent to Bain Square.
All dental General and Orthodontic payment claims and Prior Approval requests must be submitted via e-dental. No GP17 or GP17(O) paper payment or Prior Approval request can be processed. They will be returned to the practice for electronic submission.

Digital study models should be uploaded by e-dental.

Payment for postage
If practices underpay or do not pay for postage, we will not accept these items. Any mail which does not have the correct postage paid will be refused and returned by Royal Mail if there is a return address.
Regulation 9 forms
The regulation 9 form authorised by the Health Board should be emailed to:
NSS.psd-prior-approval@nhs.scot
Send an email with 'Reg 9' and the patient's name in the subject field, this must be sent from your NHS.scot email address.
Send the treatment claim and add 'Reg 9 NHS Board decision emailed' in observations.
Administration forms
All administration forms must be submitted by e-mail from an nhs.scot email account to:
NSS.psd-customer-admin@nhs.scot
The form type should be detailed in the subject field. Responses to these enquiries will also be sent by email. The 283, 287 and 289 forms do not need to be signed by the dentist if submitted from the dentist’s nhs.scot email account. If submitted by your practice manager or receptionist from an nhs.scot email account the form must be signed by the dentist.

MIDAS reply letters
If the reply letter relates to GP17 / GP17(O) claims, the claim must be resubmitted by e-dental with the necessary amendment if payment is still being requested. We cannot amend rejected claims sent by e-dental.

All allowance forms and correspondence for Dental payments must be submitted by e-mail to:

Enter the allowance form number or correspondence matter in the subject field of the email. Responses to these enquiries will also be sent by email.
